More than 500 Startups from 35 different countries have applied to this competition, backed by Plug and Play and promoted by Startup Valencia.

This is a figure that, as stated by Juan Luis Hortelano, president of Startup Valencia, represents a 25% increase compared to the number of applications made in 2021 and is a sign of the Valencian Region’s “potential for attracting talent and investment”.

The Startups in the final of the VDS2022 Competition operate in various sectors: Logistics, Mobility, Health, Fintech, Insurtech, Industry 4.0, Foodtech, Software, and Traveltech.

Half of the finalists have Spanish origins, most of them from the Valencian Community: Arkadia Space, Mojito360, and Trebellar. Barcelona’s Exheus and Madrid’s Reental complete the Spanish representation in the final phase of the competition. The rest come from Slovakia (Proky), the United Kingdom (Delivers.AI and Drill Surgeries), Italy (BizAway) and France (IDnow).
